Jessie J Undergoes Operation Following Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Pop icon Jessie J has announced that she recently had surgery for breast cancer and is now recuperating at her residence while waiting for additional results.

In a candid social media post, the 37-year-old singer expressed heartfelt gratitude to her doctor, surgeon, and the nurses who cared for her. She accompanied the message with a series of personal photos and videos taken during her time in hospital.

Describing the post as a depiction of “the genuine ups and downs of the recent 48 hours,” Jessie emphasized her dedication to revealing “both the positive and challenging aspects of any journey” she undergoes.

The artist, originally from Essex, had initially disclosed her diagnosis of early-stage breast cancer in early June. She received an overwhelming amount of support from both fellow musicians and fans. At that time, she stated that she was going to have surgery after performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on June 15.

In her most recent update, she uploaded pictures of her partner, Chanan Safir Colman, and their son visiting her at the hospital, as well as a video of herself singing from her hospital bed before the operation. Another playful scene displayed her with a post-surgery drainage bottle, which she humorously compared to a “goji berry smoothie.”

Throughout her message, Jessie emphasized her gratitude to the medical staff and offered encouragement to others facing challenges:

“Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!”

Messages of support quickly poured in. TV presenter Gaby Roslin commented, “Sending you strength, energy and so much love, you beautiful soul.” Singer Marvin Humes added, “I know Sky will be keeping you smiling and giving you strength… You’re an absolute warrior.”

When announcing her diagnosis, Jessie explained she chose to go public to help process the experience and to stand in solidarity with others navigating similar struggles.
